There’s something about Retro Cannabis that feels instantly familiar — in the best way possible. The branding is clean. The tone is confident. And the flower? It speaks for itself.
We sat down with the minds behind Retro Cannabis, a standout Canadian LP you can now find on Teedy, to talk about their roots, what drives them, and what “retro” really means to them.
Let’s start with the name. What’s behind “Retro Cannabis”?
It’s a vibe. For us, “retro” isn’t just about a specific decade or aesthetic. It’s about going back to basics — when cannabis was simple, shared, and part of real-life connections. We wanted to bring that energy into a modern, legal framework, with attention to quality, consistency, and a strong visual identity.
What makes Retro different from other producers?
We’re craft at heart, but scaled enough to meet demand without losing soul. Our team is small but skilled. Most of us came from legacy or early industry roles — we’ve lived through the evolution of this space. What we’ve built at Retro is a tight process with room for creativity.
We focus on small batches, careful curing, and detailed phenotype selection. We’re not rushing anything — we believe time matters when it comes to good flower.
Let’s talk products. What should Teedy users look out for?
Right now, our lineup includes classic indica and sativa profiles, each with a retro name and vibe. We’ve got:
Blue Lime Pie – A citrus-forward hybrid that fans love for its smoothness and dense structure.
Slurricane – A deep, moody indica for those who prefer darker, richer terpenes.
Fruit Funk – Sweet on the nose, wild on the finish. It’s a favourite in our rotation.
Every cultivar is hand-trimmed, hang-dried, and slow-cured, then tested for quality. You’ll find terpene info, batch details, and full transparency on each jar.
How do you stay connected with customers in such a crowded space?
We keep it real. We don’t try to be everything to everyone. We speak to people who care about good weed, good design, and no BS. Whether you're a longtime user or just curious, we want the Retro experience to feel clear and welcoming.
And platforms like Teedy help with that. We love working with partners who actually care about presenting brands the right way.
Last thing — what’s next for Retro?
More drops, more fire. We’ve got new genetics in the pipeline, a few limited editions, and we’re working on some merch collabs that tie back into the retro aesthetic — think bold colors, old-school fonts, and real-world culture.
We're also working on pre-roll formats and possibly oil-based products down the line. But flowers will always be our core.
