In April 2020, Laurentian Organic Inc. embarked on the adventure of cannabis cultivation and became one of the first licensed producers of artisanal cannabis in Quebec. With a license to grow and process cannabis, the entire team of experts dedicated to creating unique cannabis products, moved to Lac Supérieur in the Laurentians and the company began operations in December 2020.
Laurentian Organic Inc. is a cannabis producer that has adopted innovative cultivation methods and set some of the highest quality standards in the industry. The production is done in a hybrid greenhouse and allows the cultivation of several exclusive varieties of medical cannabis of indica or hybrid strain. This culture favors the production of superior quality products such as artisanal flowers; Ethos Glue and Planet of the Grapes or other favorites like; Mandarin Cookies and Tremblant Kush.
Laurentian Organic Inc.'s mission is to encourage and share Quebec's cannabis know-how. The company has two brands in its portfolio: Laurentian Organic Inc. and Tremblant Cannabis. In its first year, Laurentian Organic Inc. has developed its offering locally, while introducing Quebec know-how to other markets in Canada, namely Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. By the end of 2022, its greenhouse capacity will increase from 600 kg to 3,000 kg of artisanal dried flowers and its hashish production capacity is expected to increase from 1 to 2 million units.
In December 2021, Organigram Inc. acquired all the issued and outstanding shares of Laurentian Organic Inc. This acquisition strengthens Organigram Inc.'s position in the Canadian market and consolidates its position in the premium cannabis segment, particularly medical cannabis. Organigram Inc. is a licensed producer of cannabis and cannabis products in Canada. The transaction accelerates and strengthens Organigram Inc.'s presence in the Quebec market through Laurentian Organic Inc.'s leadership position in the growing hashish market and, with Tremblant cannabis, the company adds Quebec's best-selling hashish brand to its portfolio. Indeed, Tremblant cannabis' star product is Tremblant Haschisch, an "Old School" hashish reminiscent of the 80's, it is dark on the outside and lighter brown on the inside. This hashish presents rich and spicy notes and it has a soft and pleasant texture which becomes malleable with the heat of the hands. Once lit, it lets out a thick white smoke.
